  • Superintendent then thanked the board for extending his employment contract to 2026, allowing him to continue the important work of the district and provide stability in a time when many other large urbans are lacking stable leadership.
  • Superintendent shared that Friday is our last day of school before our three week winter break. During the break thousands of students will be participating in our winter camps, and free lunches will be available on campuses for all children ages 1-18. For more information about locations, dates, and times please see our website at www.fresnounified.org.
  • Superintendent then shared his deep gratitude for all of the amazing work and accomplishments of our Fresno Unified family over this first semester. He shared the celebration that our Fresno Unified family’s work led our district to be highlighted as one of very few large, urban California districts that are well prepared and running well through CalMatters. CalMatters based their praise on the District Readiness Index, an index that rates school districts on 30 measures across five domains including Family and Community Engagement, Financial Management, Leadership and Governance, School Personnel, and Work Environment. He shared that data-backed recognition such as this speaks to the incredible work of our teams every day.
